Sailing Aquarius Around The World

Hey there! We're Ken and Zivile, also known as Isabelle, adventurers, sailors, and RUclipsrs.
Back in 2017, we made a big leap and bought Aquarius - an Amel Super Maramu 2000. Despite our limited sailing experience, we set off on an epic journey Around The World! Fast forward 7 years, and we've covered over 36,000 nautical miles, visited 50 countries, and unfortunately, dealt with the challenge of 2 broken masts-right in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, no less, on our final stretch to complete our Circumnavigation!
At present, Aquarius sits patiently in a boatyard, masts absent, as we navigate through the insurance & repair (?) process.
Once everything is sorted, we'll be transparent about what happened-when and how we lost the mast, the underlying cause, and all the details.

Cruising Caribbean before hurricane Beryl / Sailing Aquarius Ep. 197
This video was filmed in the middle of June - before Hurricane Beryl. And I understand that now sadly most likely it looks differently… But I think it’s important to see those islands’ beauty before the disaster as all we get to see nowadays is the sad state that was left after the hurricane…

As we sail south to get out of the hurricane zone ASAP we move from Guadeloupe, Caribbean towards Martinique. It all went fairly well despite the unusual wind direction until we noticed that one of our main mast shrouds seemed quite loose. Captain Ken motored Aquarius to Trinidad, and started repairs on Aquarius. We buy another Amel Super Maramu 2000 and in the process of removing the masts to replace those missing on Aquarius. We left the Canary Islands, Tenerife for the Atlantic Ocean Crossing it is a little over 2,600 NM going straight, but due to prevailing trade winds majority of sailors and we sail south towards Cape Verde. We were not sure if we would stop there or continue, and we were ready for either. But the winds dictated to stop otherwise we would face 3-4 days with no wind at all... So here we go country...

Hello Captain Ken How did Cyclone Beryl treat you? Where did you hide? He threw more than one in the Grenadines and adjacent areas to the shore of the beach in a pile. This disturbance took a rather peculiar course, for a long time the Caribbean Sea and remote areas such as Guatemala and Honduras, now running, were not threatened. Happy Birthday Ms. Zivile 🍰🍹
As we were cruising offseason we heard a lot of sailors mentioning that the current year is El Nino year - therefore, the weather is worse than usual ... We tucked in Aquarius on a dry dock in Trinidad... Thank you for the birthday wishes 🤗
